Yashoda Wimaladharma is an award-winning Sri Lankan actress, known for her sensitive character portrayals. She majored in Hindi at a Sri Lanka university in 1998, and then obtained her Master’s Degree in Hindi from the University of Lucknow in India in 2000. Her acting career began in 1986 with a tele-series in Sri Lanka.. She is one of the few Sri Lankan actresses who has been balancing performances on stage, television and cinema, unbroken, for the past 33 years. Her major movies include ‘Guru Gedara’, ‘Maruthaya’, ‘Anantha Rathriya’, ‘Duwata Mavaka Misa’, ‘Vaishnaavi’, ‘Butterfly Symphony’, ‘Guerilla Marketing’, ‘Agnidaahaya’ and ‘Asandimitta’ to name a few. She has also played a part in Malayalam film ‘Achaaryan’ produced in Kerala, and also in international movies including ‘Mother Teresa: In the Name of God’s Poor’.
