The greatest art in the world is the art of storytelling, American filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille had rightly said. In its third edition, Sg.SAIFF is taking forward its promise of bringing diverse stories from across South Asia for film aficionados to savour here in Singapore, often called the Asian Melting Pot. After two successful editions, our team was more determined to make this annual affair bigger and better. So here we are, with a bouquet of around 45 movies from countries like India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bhutan, Singapore, Bangladesh and Iran. Cinema speaks a universal language. For the line-up for the third Sg.SAIFF, we have ensured a mixed bag of films in various languages. From India itself, movies in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese and Ladakhi are set to be showcased in various sections at the film festival. The formats cut across shorts, documentaries, features and anthologies. Apart from movie screenings, the festival will have multiple panel discussions, workshops and culminate in an awards gala. We are sure the event will woo movie buffs of all ages, and promise to make concerted efforts to make this cinema carnival an exciting calendar event.
