Synopsis :Just as Moses was found in the river Nile, an infant is rescued from a river, and adopted by Miraj, Karim and Sajib in turns over the years, only to be abandoned at the various stages of his life. From innocence to becoming a gangster, the unpredictable currents of Jalal's journey prove that he is truly a child of the river.
About Director :Abu Shahed Emon is a young Bangladeshi independent filmmaker. He has attended film schools in Australia and South Korea. Emon has been part of the Asian Film Academy (AFA) Fellowship Program (2010) of the Busan International Film Festival, Asian project market (2011), Beijing Film Market (2012), Open Doors Lab (2016) at the Locarno International Film Festival, Goa Film Bazaar Co-Production Market (2016) etc. For his films, he has received several grants like AFA Scholarship Fund (2010) for the short film The Container (2012), Asian Cinema Fund (ACF) for The Tale of a Policeman. Emon's debut feature film project, Jalal’s Story has traveled to more than thirty international film festivals and was also the Bangladeshi entry to the 88th Academy Awards (Oscar) in the foreign language film category.
