Singapore, being the gateway of Asia, only enhances the potential of the festival to emerge as the melting pot of diverse cultures using cinema as a medium. The festival will be held from 5th Ocotber to 14th October 2018 at various venues.
Singapore South Asian International Film Festival (Sg.Saiff) showcases a combination of feature films, short films and documentaries under two sections – Competition (wherein titles from South Asia will compete for an award) and Non-Competition (Showcase) (wherein the best of South East Asian cinema will be screened).
Additionally, the festival will also offer a unique opportunity to learn about acting, filmmaking and screenwriting along with knowledge sessions like panel discussions, master classes and other business networking sessions. The festival will conclude with a cultural program including some exciting stage performances, awards and music.
The festival serves as a unique opportunity for a cultural interaction between two major geographical regions- South Asia and Singapore.
With its eclectic mix of events, Sg.SAIFF hopes to provide an entertaining, immersive as well as enriching environment to enable a new vibrant film community to develop in Singapore.
